MTV.com has revealed Gail Simone is leaving Batgirl and is being replaced with Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher on writing duties, and newcomer Babs Tarr and somtimes artist Stewart providing pencils. Their run will start in Octobers Batgirl 35, when Barbara’s apartment burns down and she rebuilds her life from the ground up.
Apparently this means dropping the fashionless body armor and going for a more stylish leather jacket with button on cape and Doc Martin outfit. Am I the only one that thinks this is going to suck? She looks happy. You don’t look happy in a bat-suit. It’s one of Bruce’s unwritten rules. Look for the cancellation of Batgirl just after issue 40.
