HBOMax’s Titans, for those unfamiliar, is a story of DC Universe sidekicks. I have to admit that other than Cartoon Network’s hilarious Teen Titans series, I really didn’t have much background with the Titans Universe before watching the live action series now streaming on HBOMax.
The show was getting dusty in my watch list for some time because I had low expectations. To be honest, I never got into the Titans comic books for the same reason. It just seemed to me that a story in the Batman universe without Batman was kind of a pointless money-making scheme. Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans worked because it made fun of itself. But a dark drama about the Boy Wonder leading a team of misfits including the likes of AquaLad and Wonder Girl did not seem promising. I know now that I was wrong. But, give me a break. Aqualad? Come on.
Anyway, for those of you nerds who were hesitant to watch it like me, there’s a good a chance your mind will be changed as soon as you see how badass that Boy Wonder can be. And news is Season 3 is confirmed for late this year. – Dennis Marrero
